JLT Member Spotlight: Tori Gray

Get to know Tori Gray, one of our amazing Junior League of Tuscaloosa board of directors members, in this week’s Member Spotlight!

How many years have you been in the league? I’ve been in the League for 5 years.

What is your day job? I am the Assistant Director of the Ferguson Student Center at The University of Alabama. I oversee day-to-day operations and events in the building.

What is your favorite thing to do in Tuscaloosa? Eat! I’m a foodie, but I also love the fellowship of sharing good food with other people.

If you had an extra 8 hours in your day what would you do with it? I would spend 8 extra hours of the day with my daughter, Riley Grace. Whether that means napping, playing, or just watching her enjoy life, I would take any extra moments with her.

In your opinion what is the best thing about being a JLT member? I have been able to be a part of some beautiful things in our community through the league. Building an outdoor classroom with my provisional class has been my favorite!

What do you want other people to know about JLT? There are endless opportunities to learn throughout the league. Whether through opportunities provided by the Association of Junior Leagues International or hearing from speakers throughout our community, there is always a takeaway if you truly want to learn.

Why did you join the JLT? I saw an opportunity to serve the community that has given so much to me and make new friends while doing so. I’ve been able to do both while challenging myself to do new things because the women of the league believe in me sometimes more than I believe in myself.

Tori’s recent accomplishments: I was Provisional of the Year for my class, and in 2019 I won the Mary Colwick Award. But my greatest accomplishment is being a mom 🙂
